LEOPARDSTOWN NAP: SHAMROCK heads to Monday’s Leopardstown card for his NAP in the 2.55pm beginners chase.

A disappointing effort from the NAP Homme D’un Soir yesterday who travelled well but found disappointingly little.

Leopardstown’s meeting continues on Monday.

Best bet could come in the beginners chase at 2.55pm with the Jessica Harrington trained Discordantly who runs in the multi-coloured silks of the Oddfellows Partnership.

The six-year-old takes a massive drop in class having finished a well beaten fifth in a Grade 2 at Navan last time out. Although well adrift in the end, he was competitive for a long way and his jumping was sound. His jumping had previously let him down at Punchestown when he fell two out when very much in contention in a better looking race than this.

The main danger has to be Dortmund Park who won a Grade 1 over hurdles. He would win this by 30 lengths if that form could be taken at face value but the concern with him is that he has gone off the boil for a long time now and although this is a big drop in class it’s hard to be that enthusiastic after his first run over fences at Down Royal where he was beaten 52 lengths and the vet reported he was blowing hard after the race.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Discordantly (2.55 Leopardstown)

2020 NAPS: 18/36 +82.25 (to a 10 unit daily level stake)
