TOUGH GOING AT DUNDALK: Not the ground, which is standard as always, but the cards look really tough for punters tonight.

Irish racing resumes tonight at Dundalk for an eight race card which gets underway at 6.00.

The SHAMROCK NAP bids to make it 9 winners from the last 12 tonight so the pressure is on !

I want to be against the thoroughly exposed favourite, Mona Brown, in the 7.30 and think the Mick Halford trained Rock Magic could be a better proposition.

Rock Magic seems to be an improved filly since joining the Halford stable this year and has run two solid races over course and distance. She was a creditable 1 1/2 length third to Al Mancilia in a handicap last time out and the drop back to maiden company can pay dividends here.

Mona Brown has proved a little frustrating so far in six starts and the first time switch to Polytrack would need to bring about an improvment if she is to beat Rock Magic tonight. I prefer to stick with Rock Magic’s proven ability on the surface.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Rock Magic (7.30 Dundalk)
