NAP, NEXT BEST and DOUBLE LANDED: Shamrock supporters landed a first and last race double on Saturday at Kilbeggan. The nap, White Feathers (4/7) won the opener and next best Top Madam won the finale (won 7/4). The only other recommendation on Saturday was a win double on the pair!

3.15 Leopardstown: Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial This race produced a major boilover last season with Ballybacka Lady storming home at 33/1 before going on to disappoint in her subsequent races. This year’s race has the potential to do the same with the BETDAQ market suggesting it’s wide open.

My two against the field are Princess Sinead and Duntle. Split your usual stake and back them both at around 8/1.

Princess Sinead (1 win from 6) continues to run well at the highest level and her latest third to Chrysanthemum at the Curragh could be form good enough to take this. A certain Homecoming Queen was way back in 9th that day but I’m not sure we can take that form too literally !

I want to include Duntle just in case she’s exceptional. She’s only raced twice but it was hard not to be excited about her 18 length romp at Dundalk last time out. If she’s improved again then who knows she could be good enough at this level.

3.45 Leopardstown: Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes A match on the betting and I see it that way but I prefer the second favourite Light Heavy to beat the globetrotting Wrote.

For the nap, I like Allowed in the 5.15 to build on an encouraging debut at the Curragh.

SHAMROCK’s BETS:
NAP: ALLOWED (5.15 Leopardstown)
SPLIT STAKES: PRINCESS SINEAD and DUNTLE (3.15 Leopardstown)
