MOSCOW LANDS NAP: Shamrock made it three winning naps from last four with Moscow Mannon (WON 10/11) at Navan yesterday.

The naps are back in form with three winners from the last four:

Wednesday: Thouva WON 13/8
Thursday: Ballycasey WON 4/6
Saturday: Moscow Mannon WON 10/11

An absolute thriller of a John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase at Punchestown this afternoon which, without doubt, is the race of the day despite the small field.

All four runners are Grade One winners but the race is being billed as a match-up between the Peter Casey trained Flemenstar and the Willie Mullins runner Sir Des Champs.

Both come into the race with long unbeaten records and confidence from their respective camps but something has to give?

Peter Casey (Flemenstar) said: “His jumping is his greatest asset, I think. He takes lengths out of the others at every fence, even in bad ground. We wouldn’t want it sticky on Sunday, that’s the only thing.”

Davy Russell (jockey, Sir Des Champs) said: “It’s a tough place to start, but it was always going to be wherever he went because he’s a Grade One horse. I suppose it will depend on who handles the conditions best.”

I narrowly prefer Flemenstar today.

For the naps sequence however I’ll stick with Pride Ofthe Parish in the opener at Punchestown today at 12.30 on a cracking day of Irish jumping which includes a Graded card at Cork.
