DRAW TRAP FOR DADDY LONG LEGS: Ballydoyle’s bid for a big weekend Classics treble of two English Guineas and a Kentucky Derby was dealt a devastating blow today, with Daddy Long Legs’ chance reduced to 1-in-55 on the stats for Churchill Downs on Saturday.

It’s a downer for Ballydoyle. Their Kentucky Derby hope Daddy Long Legs has been allotted the worst draw of all in Saturday’s big race at Churchill Downs.

The UAE Derby winner is on the rail in stall (sorry ‘gate’) one, a position that’s produced only one winner in 55 years, as the field tends to cross over en masse and swallow up the inside.

Daddy Long Legs was yesterday best priced in England at 19.0 offers on BETDAQ but drifted on the US morning-line to as big as 32-1.

Meanwhile, Ladbrokes make Ballydoyle only 7-2 to land the Guineas double at Newmarket with the Montjeu colt Camelot and the Galileo filly Maybe.

With the rain bucketing down, that may be another case of it all seemed so easy. For 7-2 you’d want a pair of Olympic swimmers.

Aidan O’Brien saddles two more Montjeus at Tipperary tonight, Offer (7.00) and Chicago (7.30). I’m napping Offer, an appropriate Betdaq bet, for which there is a strong word.

But Chicago faces newcomers from the top yards of John Oxx, Tommy Stack (Rockzanda 17.5 on BETDAQ) and Dermot Weld, with Stack in blistering form, having just hit a hat-trick.

For the double, I can’t see why Jim Bolger (Verbal Honesty) won’t know all about his two rivals in the opener: both Dylanbaru and Canary Row are tied in on form to his Curragh winner Dawn Approach.

SHAMROCK’S BETS
NAP: Offer (7.00 Tipperary)
NEXT BEST: Verbal Honesty (5.30 Tipperary)
OUTSIDER: Rockzanda (7.30 Tipperary)
DAQ TRIO: Verbal Honesty (5.30 Tipperary), Offer (7.00 Tipperary) and Rock Critic (8.30 Tipperary)
