NAPS OPERATING A GOOD SERVICE: Shamrock landed his third winning nap of the week with Operating (4/7) at Punchestown last night. As ever, BETDAQ players got a better price. On Thursday he has bets at Chester and Clonmel.

CHESTER: Get the stage to themeselves this afternoon following the abandonment of Goodwood and Newton Abbot. The weather is better in Ireland and Clonmel goes ahead this evening. Looking ahead to tomorrow at Cork, the sprint course was found unfit for racing (waterlogging/false patches) and the 5f race will be lost from Friday’s card. The two 6f races will be switched to the round course. The going on the round course was changed to soft from good to soft.

Aidan O’Brien attempts to plunder another big price in England following his Guineas double at the weekend and runs David Livingstone in the Chester Vase at 2.35. This one has the most experience in the race but finished behind another of today’s Irish raiders Call To Battle in the Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown.  I see no reason why that form shouldn’t be confirmed on softer ground today that they have both previously proved they can handle.

There are only five runners and the home challennge may struggle against the Irish raiders. Minimise Risk and Model Pupil both got off the mark with maiden successes last time out, whilst Mickdaam sets a good standard following a second in the valuable Tattersalls Millions at Newmarket last time out.

CLONMEL: Roman Flight looks the bet on the card. His hurdling career started with an unseat at the first but enjoyed things much better at Killarney when second and has run well enough in two spins on the flat since then.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: CALL TO BATTLE (2.35 Chester)
NEXT BEST: ROMAN FLIGHT (7.40 Clonmel)
