TIPPERARY THURSDAY ACTION: Shamrock’s bid for a naps hat-trick ended yesterday when the nap Johannisberger was found to be lame after the race. The next best selection, Glens Melody, was a winner. We head to Tipperary on Thursday for their evening card.

In terms of future potential the opening race looks the most interesting on the card at Tipperary this evening. Hartani shaped well on debut at the Curragh when fifth and then followed up over course and distance last time out when beating the odds-on Offer by half a length. The Aidan O’Brien trained Offer went on to win well at Navan on his next start but that was no surprise – he went off the 1/9 favourite !

The key difference today for Hartani is the ground – it was heavy at the course last time and good ground is expected tonight but that shouldn’t cause any problems.

The Dermot Weld trained Modern Romance was a nice winner at Roscommon on debut over 7f but again that was on heavy ground and he has an absence of 262 days to overcome plus the considerable step-up in distance too.

Also off the track for a while is the Aidan O’Brien trained Tibet who won narrowly at Gowran before disappointing in listed company next time out.

China One flopped at Dundalk last time after winning at the track on debut whilst the other runner Montebell showed her debut placed effort at 40/1 was no fluke by winning well last time out and is by no means out of it in a race where all five can be considered but on all evidence to date, Hartani looks the best option.

In the 6.20 Truly Madly easily accounted for the only other runner here who has ran, High Hill Beauty, at Cork last time and can put his experience to good use and win at the third attempt.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Hartani (5.50 Tipperary)
NEXT BEST: Truly Madly (6.20 Tipperary)
