THREE NAPS IN A ROW: Shamrock made it three winning naps in a row this week with So You Think (NAP) WON 4/5 following on from Truthwillsetufree (NAP) WON 6/4 and Savida (NAP) WON 9/4. My recent naps form figures now read: 1101112022101110110103010111

I’m bidding for my fourth nap in a row today. A little bit of fame and glory perhaps?

In fact, it’s pretty hard to look beyond Fame And Glory as he bids to follow-up last year’s success in the Gold Cup. There were plenty of question marks about his ability to get the trip going into last year’s race but he answered those doubts in style. He’s warmed up for this year’s renewal with a narrow win in the Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan over Unaccompanied, who had the benefit of a previous run this season.

Jamie Spencer is back onboard today and I can see Ballydoyle plundering yet another top prize in England and the third consecutive ‘daily banker’ to oblige at Royal Ascot this week following Frankel on Tuesday and So You Think yesterday.

At Leopardstown this evening O’Brien should land the opener with Pedro The Great who, as it turns out, was pitched in at a really deep level on his debut in a Listed race at Naas, won by Dawn Approach, who of of course gave a massive boost to that form by winning the Coventry Stakes on the opening day of Royal Ascot this week.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Fame And Glory (3.45 Royal Ascot)
NEXT BEST: Pedro The Great (5.55 Leopardstown)
