GALWAY DAY FOUR: Both bets finished second yesterday frustratingly 🙁 However, we got a good run for our money with Casey Top (2nd 14/1) in the Galway Plate and he traded very low in running on BETDAQ.

Early start at Galway. Don’t get caught out the first race is at 1.50 on day four of the Festival.

One good winner can turn your week around at Galway and I thought Casey Top was going to do just that two out in the Galway Plate yesterday. The big race today is the Guinness Galway Handicap Hurdle at 4.50.

It’s no great surrise to see Drive Time trading as favourite. This lightly raced runner from Willie Mullins stable warmed up for this with a win on  the flat at Killarney last time out and was the winner of a valuable Punchestown handicap hurdle on heavy ground in April.

Whether there’s any value left in the current BETDAQ price of 6.6 is debatable, and with four places up for grabs I’m looking for a place bet in the race.

English raider Lexi’s Boy is only a four-year-old but is tough and the Donald McCain stable won this with the admirable Overturn two years ago. Lexi’s Boy relishes the soft ground and can hopefully run into a place.

Dazzling Susie seems to enjoy the fences much better than the hurdles and can complete a hat-trick by winning the novice chase at 2.25

SHAMROCK’s BETS:

NAP: Dazzling Susie (2.25 Galway)
PLACE: Lexi’s Boy (5.50 Galway)
