FAIRYHOUSE: After the washout at Roscommon yesterday – the good news is that no problems are forecast for the Fairyhouse flat card this evening. Shamrock naps against the favourite in the opener.
The opener at Fairyhouse can go to Tiger Stripes who, although only ninth on debut at the Curragh, didn’t run that badly and wasn’t beaten far in what will probably turn out to be a hot race.
Rose Garden is probably worth opposing. A lot of punters will be drawn in by her debut second at Tipperary over five furlongs but that doesn’t look exceptional form and at the prices Tiger Stripes looks the one to be on.
Interesingly, Ger Lyons saddles three debutants in the opener.
Hay Point, who runs in the colours of Sheikh Mohammed, shaped well on her debut when third at the Curragh and should appreciate the step up distance in the closing maiden over 1m 4f.
