WHAT A START: Shamrock had a winning nap AND next best on the first day of Royal Ascot on Tuesday. His next best DAWN APPROACH won the Coventry Stakes at 7/2 and he switched to Sligo for his nap of the day TRUTHWILLSETUFREE who won at 6/4.

There are several good chances for Ireland at Royal Ascot on Wednesday but the racing is ultra-competitive.

I napped Emulous when she made her seasonal reappearance at the Curragh and she won well beating 33/1 One Spirit who herself went on to win a Listed race. Emulous didn’t win on her seasonal reapperarance the previous year but went on to win three in-a-row, including the Group One Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.

She has to carry a Group One penalty here so it won’t be easy but has plenty of class and could easily be good enough for trainer Dermot Weld.

Thousands of Aussie’s are in town to witness what could become a Coronation of the Queen Of Ascot on Saturday when superstar mare Black Caviar struts her stuff. They will no doubt be keen to also support So You Think today in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at 3.45. He was also a former star in Australia before joining Aidan O’Brien’s yard and has performed well since. He was however beaten in this race last year at 4/11, so fingers were well and truly burnt and can be inconsistent.

However, he looked good on reappearance and his overall profile is excellent (four Group One’s since moving to Ireland and at his best should win this with ease.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: So You Think (3.45 Royal Ascot)
NEXT BEST: Emulous (3.05 Royal Ascot)
