SHAMROCK AT NAAS: SHAMROCK heads to Naas on Saturday where the big race is the Fishery Lane Hurdle at 1.00.
The big race on the Naas card today is the Fishery Lane Hurdle at 1.00 and it looks at the mercy of Willie Mullins.
Analifet is having her first race back since injury so can hardly be considered a bet at likely odds-on. She was impressive in two wins over hurdles at Punchestown and Fairyhouse but was then pulled up injured in the early stages of the Knight Frank Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown for which she was sent off the 3/10 favourite.
It turned out to be a pelvic fracture and at the time Willie Mullins was confident that she would make a full recovery. He said: “Sometimes when they get those injuries it can be just a bad muscle tear and they can come back quicker, but it appears there is a small fracture there.
“It’s a common enough thing and they can make complete recoveries. I think Al Kazeem had one last year and what a recovery he made. We see that recovery all the time.”
In the maiden hurdle at 1.35 (won last year by The Tullow Tank) the Gordon Elliott trained Free Expression can make a winning start over timber. He is unbeaten with a win in a point to point and a bumper and looks an interesting recruit.
