SAMCRO MAKES IT FOUR FROM FIVE: SAMCRO lived up to the hype at Cheltenham on Wednesday to land SHAMROCK’s fourth winning nap from the the last five.

Samcro really did live up to the hype when winning the Ballymore yesterday and the really scary thing is that there looks more improvement to come.

He still looked green to me in the closing stages. Winning jockey Jack Kennedy said after the race: “That was unreal. He’s just a class horse. I was there way too soon on him, but he kept going.

“The horse is very good. I wasn’t happy with the position I had during the race, but he’s such a good horse that he got me through.”

Samcro is likely to head to Punchestown next before a plan is drawn up for next season. Must be nice to have so many options.

Fri: PALLASATOR (NAP) WON 2/1
Sat: SAGLAWY (NAP) WON 2/5
Mon: SIR DANILO (NAP) WON 5/4
Tue: GETABIRD (NAP) LOST
Wed: SAMCRO (NAP) WON 8/11

Laurina looks every inch the Irish banker of the day in the Trull House Stud Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at 4.50pm on today’s card.

Willie Mullins excels in this division and he has won the only two previous runnings of this.

Laurina has stormed home in both her starts over hurdles, both coming on heavy ground and was unextended when winning the Grade 3 Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle by 11 lengths last time out.

Multiple winner Maria’s Benefit is a tough cookie but you wonder whether her exertions this year will catch up. A bigger danger for me is the lightly raced Salsaretta who showed ability on the jumps in France and makes his debut for, that man again, Willie Mullins here.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Laurina (4.50 Cheltenham)
