SHAMROCK HEADS TO CLONMEL: Their seven race card gets underway at 1.25pm this afternoon on soft ground.
Not unusually for a maiden hurdle, it’s not hard to safely eliminate quite a few of the runners.
That’s certainly the case in the 1.55 at Clonmel today – the Cashel Maiden Hurdle.
The best bet is the unexposed Gallant Tipp who made a winning bumper debut at Roscommon last season relishing the soft to heavy ground.
He went on to finish third at Limerick when the going was even more testing.
He hopefully will outclass his rivals here but will need to have a bit in hand as he has a penalty to defy.
