SHAMROCK HEADS TO TIPPERARY: For his NAP on Thursday currently trading at 4.6 on BETDAQ and is annoyed with himself over yesterday’s trading strategy.

Frustrating this game at times and the trouble is you get nothing for being half right.

Last night for example, at Naas, I wanted to be against Moth at the odds. There are several ways that could have panned out – with hindsight the best way would have been a lay – or for very a little downside a place lay on the unplaced 4/11 favourite.

But I played it another (unsuccesful) way and tried to find a place alternative. I settled on Rocktique who was bitterly disappointing but not as disappointing as Moth who could only finish eighth.

Given she has previously finished third to Sky Lantern in the Newmarket 1000 Guineas and fourth to Talent in the Epsom Oaks it’s one of those results that just leaves you dumbfounded.

But again the beauty of BETDAQ is that you do have so many options of playing a race once you have taken a view on it.

At Tipperary tonight I want to be against Johnny Lynch the current BETDAQ favourite in the 6.30. He was a course and distance winner last time out but on soft ground and has no experience so far of this firmer surface. That’s not to say he won’t handle it but with no evidence I don’t want to find out at short odds.

Equally, Sylvan Mist has no experience of racing on the turf. ALL of her nine starts have come on the Polytrack at Dundalk.

The bet could be More Questions who has winning form on good to firm ground, at Navan two starts ago, and appeals at 4.6 on the BETDAQ market.
