I’m hopeful it’s a case of the eagle has landed at Leopardstown tonight with the Joseph O’Brien trained Eagle Spirit my nap of the day in the maiden at 6.50.
He made a pleasing debut over seven furlongs here earlier this month when finishing third to debutant Currency Converter and should improve significantly for that run and the extra furlong tonight.
Father Aidan could spoil the party with two interesting debutants in the shape of Venezuela and Diodorus who are both exceptionally well bred.
The market hasn’t spoken clearly on either and the balance of probability is that they are likely to need the run on debut against a race fit rival.
