SHAMROCK HEADS TO BALLIROBE EVENING: …. and naps in the first race on the card.
Well it was a moral victory if not an official one yesterday.
The nap, Alelchi Inois, was a non runner but Akatara who I started was the principal danger won at 3/1.
It’s a busy night of racing at Ballinrobe with an eight race mixed card which gets underway at 5.10.
In the opener Kings Speaker, an interesting debutant for Willie Mullins, is now a non runner and it could well leave the door open for Jack Daddy to record a first win.
His overall form is quite modest but in the context of this race is the form pick on the back of his third to Solo Performer at Roscommon last time out.
That was over 1m 4f and he was staying on to good effect suggest he should be able to handle the step-up in trip.
He did disappoint over the 1m 6f trip at Listowel when last of five but that was on soft ground and I think the better ground tonight will be very much in his favour.
The current price of 2.67 on BETDAQ looks very fair.
