SHAMROCK BIDDING FOR NAPS FOUR-TIMER: SHAMROCK heads to Cheltenham in search of his fourth winning nap in a row.

A great start to Cheltenham week when the nap won yesterday.

Sir Danilo fought back bravely to beat the favourite Liberatio at Dundalk.

It’s now three winning naps in a row:

Fri: PALLASATOR (NAP) WON 2/1
Sat: SAGLAWY (NAP) WON 2/5
Mon: SIR DANILO (NAP) WON 5/4

It looks to be a great day on paper for the Irish on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival.

The opening Supreme so much sets the trend for backers and layers alike – both looking to get off to a perfect start.

The Irish struck last year in this with shock 25/1 winner Labaik and this year the market has revolved around Getabird who has been a little weak over the past week.

I think it’s more a case of his price becoming more realistic as it’s plenty competitive but I am keeping the faith with Mullins and Walsh.

Getabird has won all four of his starts, relishes the testing ground and proved at Punchestown he can cope with the class as well when drawing clear to win the Grade 2 Moscow Flyer. He beat Mengli Khan (who had a penalty) that day who is hardly a slouch – he’s a Grade 1 winner himself !!!!

I think Getabird still has unlimited potential and get the meeting off to a flyer for the Irish.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Getabird (1.30 Cheltenham)
