KILLARNEY ON THE FLAT: Killarney stage a flat card tonight starting at 5.50pm. SHAMROCK’S NAP runs in the maiden at 6.50pm.

Woodland Opera, yesterday’s NAP, was a faller at the second last but looked beaten at the time.

Hopefully more luck tonight as Killarney switch back to the flat.

Silk Cravat looks the answer to the one mile Killarney Races Maiden at 6.50pm. His form is vastly superior to his rivals here but there is the issue that he has been off the track for 290 days and is now with a new stable having joined Ger Lyons from Simon Crisford.

He looks worth chancing as there are question marks too about his principal rivals. Golden Dandy has gone off at 40/1 and 66/1 in her two starts and almost caused a massive shock at Limerick when failing by three quarters of a length. That was on good ground though and she is unproven on soft ground whereas the selection ran perhaps his best race when runner-up on soft ground at Sandown.

Buttermere has something to find with Golden Dandy on Limerick form but she is also unproven on soft ground.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Silk Cravat (6.50 Killarney)
