NO IRISH RACING TODAY: But SHAMROCK looks ahead to Breeders’ Cup weekend at Santa Anita and the challenge from Aidan O’Brien.
It’s looming Breeders’ Cup weekend at Santa Anita and Aidan O’Brien again has targeted the meeting with some of his stable stars.
O’Brien has now won eight Breeders’ Cup races which places him third in the all-time roll of honour but on paper this year it might not be his strongest challenge.
The reasons that the Breeders’ Cup proves such a challenge for the European raiders are obvious and well documented – the travelling, change in climate and simply because it comes at the tail end of our domestic season.
I’ll be previewing the racing later in the week but as it stands the Aidan O’Brien raiding party is shaping up like this:
