BALLINROBE TUESDAY: SHAMROCK takes on an odds-on favourite in the 6.55 at Ballinrobe tonight.

Monday’s NAP Storm Away finished a close second, hopefully we can go one better today.

It’s a tough card for punters at Ballinrobe tonight with some open looking BETDAQ markets.

That doesn’t apply though in the 6.55 where the Willie Mullins trained Darroun is trading at 1.91 on BETDAQ.

My first reaction was that this was far too skinny a price and he looks worth taking on.

On the best of his form he would be a shoe-in here, esepcially judged on his fourth in the Champion 4-y-o Trophy at Punchestown but his current form is some way off that and there is also the concern tonight that the firmer ground might not be to his liking.

He was pulled up when last seen out over hurdles at Leopardstown in December and more recently didn’t fare any better on the flat when a well beaten 8th of 10 at Limerick and a beaten favourite too.

Rather than try and fine one to beat him – it’s going to be a straight forward lay on BETDAQ for me.
