BALLINROBE JUMPING: SHAMROCK heads to Ballinrobe on Tuesday for their eight race jumps card.

The nap finished third yesterday, hopefully better luck today.

Testing conditions at Ballinrobe today where the ground is currently soft (soft to heavy in places).

Just three runners line up for the Eamon Sheridan Plant Hire & Ground Works Chase at 5.35 but it looks a fascinating potential clash between Aidan O’Brien’s Carriganog and the Margaret Mullins trained Ballychorus – both of whom are seeking hat-tricks.

Ballychorus is still prone to the occasional error which just swings things for me in favour of Carriganog in a race where the BETDAQ market is struggling to split the pair.

Elsewhere on the card Le Vagabond looks an interesting recruit for trainer Edward O’Grady. He was a Longchamp winner on the flat when trained in France and makes his Irish debut in the opener.

With Katie Do now a non runner in the closing race the door may have been left open for recent Galway winner Abarta. He was second to Katie Do over course and distance last month and looks to have a solid chance in this company on ground he likes.
