NO MORE OF THAT: SHAMROCK looks at the BETDAQ market for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle with the news that last year’s winner More Of That misses the race.
Connections have now confirmed that More Of That will not defend his crown in next month’s Ladbrokes World Hurdle.
Frank Berry, racing manager to owner JP McManus, said: “The writing was on the wall a few weeks ago to be fair. When he burst a few weeks ago we feared the worst. He’s back in good form again with himself, but the Festival is just going to come too quick. So, we’ll give him a nice long break and bring him back refreshed in the autumn.”
Zarkander and stablemate Saphir Du Rheu are now disputing the betting at the top of a wide open market on BETDAQ.
2012 Champion Hurdle winner Rock On Ruby is the only other runner in single figure odds.
Best of the Irish challengers could well be the Sandra Hughes trained Lieutenant Colonel who bids for a third Grade One win in a row following the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse and the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown.
