MATCH OVERVIEW:

This should be an excellent game! We have plenty of stars on show today and we’re bound to have high drama. We’re only a few days into the Indian Premier League and we’ve already had a stack of drama! Delhi were involved in a tied game against Kings XI Punjab but managed to win the Super Over. They started with the bat poorly and in reality should have lost the game, but Punjab couldn’t get 1 run off 3 balls and Delhi made them pay in the Super Over.

This will be the third game for CSK, however it will be their first game here. So far they have one win and one loss. They lost a very high scoring game to Rajasthan in Sharjah where their bowling really let them down at the end of the game. Only for the last over, they probably could have won the game. They managed 200 runs, but when you concede four sixes off two (legal) balls in the final then you’re always in trouble when the scores are high to begin with.

Delhi have a nice looking squad this season and Iyer, Pant and Stoinis looked in good touch in their first game. They need a better start from the openers but the middle order looks strong. It will be interesting to see how they get on against a strong CSK side.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

This will be the fourth game here. So far you’d have to say that Dubai has looked the toughest to post high scores. The wicket isn’t fantastic, although it is decent – it’s more a case of the boundaries being very big. We saw a huge amount of sixes at Sharjah and while that was expected, a limited number of sixes is expected here.

The three first inning scores were 157/8, 163/5 and 206/3 yesterday. RCB really let it slip at the end yesterday to concede 206/3, and I’d suggest a score of 180 should be the target for the team batting first.

RECOMMENDED BET:

I like the look of both teams and I feel Delhi will win a lot of games throughout the tournament. However CSK look the stronger side here and they are worth backing at 1.83. Delhi need to improve with their openers and also their bowling slipped up a couple of times against Punjab. To be honest, they were exceptionally lucky to get a tie against Punjab. They started poorly with the bat and bowling poorly in the middle overs after taking early wickets. CSK may have lost against Rajasthan but they still got 200 runs in a high scoring game and they can bounce back with a win here.

The Edge Says:
Two points win Chennai Super Kings to beat Delhi Capitals at 1.83 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

I have to say, so far Dubai has been the toughest pitch to read. You know you’ll get high scoring games in Sharjah and it also looks like (at the moment) dew will be a factor in Abu Dhabi, but in Dubai it’s been a little tough to read. Even the score RCB defended – Hyderabad had a lot go against them, especially with injuries and such. I’m keen to see more games here before having a very firm opinion on the best tactics.

The ideal thing to do will be to assess conditions in the early overs, and target momentum trades because we have had some big finishes here. It seems a good time to open a trade on the batting team for the last five overs of the first innings. While in general, although we might have dew, most players have said the wicket hasn’t changed much between innings. I’d want to be against the Delhi tail; although their middle order looks in good touch.
