THE EDGE: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Sunday’s second T20 between BANGLADESH v ENGLAND with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

Bangladesh and England move to Mirpur on Sunday with Bangladesh having the chance at a famous series win against England! They have put two wins together now after winning the final ODI, and we should have another excellent match on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. England would have been reasonably happy with the 156/6 at the inning break in the 1st T20 – I know England didn’t finish the way they wanted, but Chattogram looked low scoring in the 3rd ODI so they would have felt they could defend the 156/6. They didn’t factor in Najmul Hossain Shanto scoring a wonderful 50 which made the chase look easy in the end!

With Jose Buttler scoring 67 runs off 42 balls, and Phil Salt not going early too – it wasn’t until 9.6 overs that England lost a wicket – it was a game that England really should have won from that position. As we all know, England can be brilliant and also collapse as they keep attacking – this time it was very much a collapse of the mid-to-low order. I feel that’s the main reason why the odds haven’t moved. England put themselves in a great position and didn’t follow through – a side with so much talent won’t do that all the time!

For Bangladesh, they are in a very good place at the moment. Two wins in a row, and now two chances at a series win. That would be a big achievement against the World Champions, despite having home advantage and England missing a few stars. A fascinating T20 ahead!

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

We head back to Mirpur for the final two T20’s. England will be happy to be back here because they won both ODI’s here. They bowled Bangladesh out for 209 in the 1st ODI and then scored an amazing 326/7 in the 2nd ODI. It will be interesting to see what kind of wicket the groundsmen roll out here – T20 cricket is all about big scores and big shots these days, but a slow and low wicket would really sui Bangladesh. I wouldn’t go into this game expecting big runs, but with dew and England’s big score in the 2nd ODI I feel the best option is to keep an open mind heading into this game. Definitely wait and watch the first three overs.

RECOMMENDED BET:

We landed a nice bet on Bangladesh in the 1st T20 at 2.92, but having watched events unfold I feel it’s a good option to switch to England here at 1.5. I know the middle and lower order collapsed, but as I said above they don’t do that often with the platform the openers gave them. I feel if the England openers bat like that again then England will win a lot more games than they lose! It’s also a good sign that Jos Buttler looks in great touch – not only from a betting point of view, but it would be great to see England win here and set up a series decider!

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

I am definitely heading into this game cautiously. I’m a little unsure what conditions to expect, and I’d want to confirm whether we get any dew of not. England batted really well in the in 2nd ODI, but the 1st ODI was low scoring and I have to say I would prepare a low scoring wicket if I was Bangladesh! All that means I am going into this game with an open mind – I feel the best trading option is to sit on your hands for the opening five overs and then go from there. I’m really happy to support the England openers once we confirm batting conditions aren’t too bad, and I would expect better from the England middle order too. Najmul Hossain Shanto is going to get a lot of limelight after his match winning knock, and he could be worth taking on with the added pressure now.
