TUESDAY IPL: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Tuesday’s IPL Game 51 Rajasthan Royals v Mumbai Indians with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

We have an absolutely crunch game at the Indian Premier League on Tuesday as Rajasthan Royals take on Mumbai Indians! After the weekend results, Royal Challengers Bangalore moved into the Playoffs which means there’s only one spot left up for grabs now. CSK played Delhi Capitals on Monday, and so far they look the best two teams in the competition. That leaves KKR, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians fighting for the last Playoff sport with Sunrisers Hyderabad nailed to the bottom. It’s going to be a fantastic week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange .

When you look at the table you can see how massive this game is. As it stands, KKR have 12 points with Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai all with 10 points. The key is Punjab Kings have played one game more than these two however as have KKR so the winner here would be in a reasonably nice position. The only big issue for these two sides is at the moment they both have a worse net run rate compared to KKR and Punjab Kings. You’d have to say KKR are the favourites; but Mumbai Indians have finished so many tournaments superbly it’s hard to rule them out!

On paper you would say there is only one winner here and that’s Mumbai, but they have been very poor this season and while Rajasthan Royals look a poor side on paper without their star players, Mumbai Indians are definitely there for the taking. A fascinating match.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

We’re back at Sharjah today and batting here has been very tough. That should bring the sides closer together, and even though Mumbai have a better side on paper it only takes one good innings to win a game here. We have seen a lot of low scores here with chasing been the better option given the low first inning scores. We did see a reasonably highs coring game here the weekend though with RCB getting 164/7 – Glenn Maxwell is in superb form however, and I would expect lower scores here – maybe around 145 or so. I’d lean towards chasing if I won the toss.

RECOMMENDED BET:

I haven’t been a fan of Rajasthan Royals since they arrived to the UAE – they look pretty light without Jos Buttler, and having already loss Ben Stokes before that I didn’t like the look of their XI. They have done OK though, and there’s a huge gap in the odds here that it’s too tempting not to take the 2.48 on Rajasthan. Mumbai look superb on paper, but they just haven’t fired. With batting tricky again here they can easily throw in another poor batting performance. A game for small stakes because it’s purely a value bet – Rajasthan are too big.

The Edge Says:
One point win Rajasthan Royals to beat Mumbai Indians at 2.48 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Apart from the very impressive Glenn Maxwell innings for RCB here at the weekend, batting has looked very tough and I would focus on looking for trades on the bowling side. Usually with tough batting conditions you would normally bat first, but here I think it’s an edge to bowl first. With the short boundaries, a six is always an option to take the pressure off the chase and teams are tending to aim too high batting first and falling short – plus you have the added benefit of dew coming too. I would look for a trade on the team bowling first as my main angle here.
