THE EDGE: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Tuesday’s IPL clash between Mumbai Indians v Royal Challenges Bangalore with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

We’re getting closer to the business end of the IPL group stage now, and we have a massive clash on Tuesday afternoon on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as Mumbai Indians host Royal Challengers Bangalore. After all the drama at the weekend, Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings moved a little clear of the rest – these two sides can stay within touching distance of them with a win here as they now have a game in hand on the top four in the table. A lot will also depend on the Kolkata Knight Riders v Punjab Kings result on Monday too – these two will be hoping for a KKR win there.

Mumbai Indians have done really well to bounce back after starting the tournament so badly – especially because they finished bottom of the table last season and they were wrote off very early! They have a genuine chance at the playoffs now. RCB had a setback when losing to Delhi Capitals at the weekend, especially because they were beaten so easily as their bowling got smacked around the park. Delhi chased down 181/4 in just 16.4 overs!

I feel the RCB record of five wins and five losses reflects them perfectly! They really rely on their star batters to fire, and their bowling is poor at times. Mumbai have had some woeful bowling performances this IPL as well. We actually have a very interesting game here – Mumbai Indians blew up at the weekend with the bat as well, both sides really need a bounce back win.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

We’re back at the Wankhede on Tuesday and we’ve had some very high scoring games here recently. The signs were there all tournament that we would have high scores here because 157/8 and 185/6 got chased down very easily in the opening two games here. Then Punjab Kings posted 214/8 and Rajasthan Royals couldn’t defend 212/7 in the last game here. Mumbai had to chase in both those games, and even though they couldn’t chase the 214/8 from Punjab they still managed over 200. With batting stronger than bowling for both sides, I expect another high scoring game!

RECOMMENDED BET:

It’s not a surprise that we have a very even market here. There really isn’t much between the sides on paper, however I feel conditions will suit Mumbai. Home advantage might be a big factor here as Mumbai know conditions well – they know they have to attack from the opening ball and while RCB have posted some high scores this season, they have come under pressure for batting too slow. Kohli has slowed down to score 50 at times, and himself and Faf du Plessis didn’t score at a fast enough rate (in hindsight) at the weekend. I’m keeping stakes small, but Mumbai have the slight edge for me at 1.97.

The Edge Says:
One point win Mumbai Indians to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore at 1.97 with Betdaq Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

I expect a high scoring game here, and I feel the bat will really come out on top. Both sides have been struggling with their bowling at times this season, and I really wouldn’t stay on either bowling side for long from an in-running point of view. With such high scores here, it makes sense to get on the side who bats first, however I would switch at the innings break as chasing has looked a slight edge. We should get dew, and with both sides batting being stronger than the bowling, both will want to chase.
