NOTTINGHAM FOREST V TOTTENHAM

8pm We have Friday Night Football in the Premier League on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week as Nottingham Forest host Spurs. On paper, this is definitely a game that Spurs should be winning but they have gone through a difficult spell recently. They finally put an end to a run of five games without a win last weekend with an excellent 4-1 win over Newcastle. They badly needed that to steady the ship – they have suffered injuries that has changed Ange Postecoglou’s system but the win over Newcastle would have been a nice confidence boost.

Spurs come into the game as the odds on favourites. They are trading 1.79 at the time of writing with Nottingham Forest 4.7 and the draw is 4.3. I know Spurs have given away a lot of sloppy goals lately, they basically threw away a 1-0 lead against West Ham, but they have been excellent going forward. Their average xG created is 1.99 which is currently the best attacking figure in the Premier League this season – even better than Liverpool and Manchester City! Where the big difference comes is Spurs are conceding an average xG of 1.41 which is basically mid-table form at the back. That’s not even allowing all the mistakes they make to gift away goals.

Despite the problems for Spurs at the back, Nottingham Forest are conceding more chances. Their average xG conceded is 1.52, but where they are really struggling is going forward. Their average xG created is only 0.93 – they are one of only three sides in the Premier League with an average xG of under 1.0. The other two sides are Sheffield United and Luton Town – two sides massively odds on to get relegated back down to the Championship. I wouldn’t say that being at home is a massive advantage for Nottingham Forest either – they are definitely more comfortable at home compared to away, but their performance level doesn’t change massively.

Spurs haven’t been as good going forward away from home. Their average xG created at home is 2.14 while their average away is 1.49. That’s quite a difference, but there is a big gulf in class between the sides here and I have to say the 1.79 on Spurs is a very appealing bet. Both Teams To Score is also a nice option at 1.69 given all the problems for Spurs at the back. I couldn’t put anyone off the Both Teams To Score bet at 1.69 but I’m very happy with Spurs at ten ticks bigger. It might be a rollercoaster, as always with Spurs, but they should get the job done here.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Tottenham to beat Nottingham Forest at 1.79 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
