ASTON VILLA V TOTTENHAM

7.30pm We have Friday Night Football from the Premier League this week on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE with the two Europa League boys in action! Spurs and Manchester United have definitely earned that Europa League boys tag because they have been woeful in the Premier League this season. Obviously we are having a big debate at the moment as to whether a win in the Europa League Final next week covers the cracks of this season – my opinion is that it would be an incredible success for both clubs to be honest. They were never good enough this season to compete in the Premier League. For Spurs, it would be a trophy win which is obviously a massive thing for them, and for Manchester United it gets them back into the Champions League which is needed from a money point of view. It was interesting to hear Ruben Amorim suggesting he might leave if the board don’t back him during the summer. Aston Villa and Chelsea will be delighted to have these fixtures at this stage of the season given they are competing for the Champions League spots. Anyway, we kick off the night with Aston Villa hosting Spurs – it’s no surprise to see Villa come into the game as the red-hot favourites here given the situation.

Aston Villa are trading 1.4 with Spurs 8.2 and the draw is 6.2 at the time of writing. Obviously Spurs (and United) have had two eyes firmly on the Europa League for a number of weeks now – they have really been lacklustre in their Premier League games, but that being said they have been poor in the Premier League all season. Villa come into the matchday sitting in sixth but everything is to play for – they are only three points behind Newcastle in third, two behind Manchester City and they are level with Chelsea. They’ve been finishing the season strongly too, and it really is hard to see past a comfortable home win here. I’d expect a reasonably weak XI from Spurs too given the Europa League Final is Wednesday night. I do feel this will be about how many goals they can score rather than will they actually win. Obviously there are some tempting handicap bets, but the 1.4 on Villa is worth backing for a confident bet in my opinion. They are finishing the season strongly and obviously Spurs are there for the taking.

CHELSEA V MANCHESTER UNITED

8.15pm We finish Friday night with Chelsea hosting Manchester United. As always, there’s been a lot going on with Manchester United this week, and most of it would leave you wondering what’s going on at the club. The story about Ruben Amorim having/offering to pay for staff to go to the Europa League Final probably highlights the toxic culture in the club at the moment from the board. There’s only so much the manager can do for the culture – but it does seem he’s fighting a losing battle when you hear stories like that. He has come out and said they have to be brave during the summer and it will be fascinating to see does the board back him. Look at how much money Manchester City are spending at the moment since they’ve had one season not winning the league – and they’re still a comfortable Top Four club too! Amorim hinted he would considering leave if he’s not backed, and to be honest given the poor decisions from the top at Old Trafford it actually wouldn’t be a surprise to see that happen. Amorim has said his United side will focus on the Europa League and his team selection has highlighted that in recent weeks.

You’d have to expect another weaker-than-usual XI from United here given the Europa League Final is only days away now. He was still frustrated by the performance last weekend. It’s no surprise that Chelsea come into the game as the red-hot favourites – they have actually had a favourable fixture list recently, bumping into Liverpool at the right time too. Chelsea are trading 1.4 with Manchester United 9.0 and the draw is 5.7 at the time of writing. We have one side finishing the season strongly here and another who has been poor in season, and clearly lacking in motivation for the Premier League at the moment. I was actually surprised how poor United have been in recent weeks – these players Amorim picks should be trying to force their way into the Europa League squad or starting XI, but they just haven’t been good enough. I can’t see past a comfortable Chelsea win here, and although some of the handicap bets are tempting, I’m happy with a Five Star NAP on the home win at 1.4.
