BRENTFORD V MANCHESTER CITY

8pm Brentford host Manchester City for Monday Night Football on BETDAQ Betting Exchange from the Premier League! Manchester City are definitely cooking now that Kevin De Bruyne is back, and it feels like they will take over in the title race soon. Obviously Liverpool, and to a lesser extent Arsenal, will have something to say about that. All City eyes will be glued to the Arsenal v Liverpool game on Sunday afternoon – anything bar a Liverpool win will be a good result for City.

Both these sides played on Wednesday night with Brentford giving Spurs a scare but losing 3-2 while City put Burnley to the sword as expected. That’s four Premier League wins in a row for City and with Be Bruyne back it just feels like they are unlikely to drop points anytime soon. They also have a relatively easy fixture list on paper coming up. Their February fixtures are Brentford here, Everton, Chelsea (at home), Brentford again and then Bournemouth. They will be short favourites to win all those games. As we saw with Chelsea getting brushed aside by Liverpool on Wednesday night too, Chelsea just aren’t the force of old.

Although they started this matchday five points behind Liverpool, City still have a game in hand and they could easily top the table come the end of February if not sooner. They will be fully expected to win this game, and they come into it trading 1.45 with Brentford 7.8 and the draw is 5.2 at the time of writing. The scary thing from a Brentford point of view is that City are actually creating more chances away from home this season. Obviously when sides have home advantage they tend to be a bit more open, and you just cannot live with City in an open game.

Away from home, City have an average xG created of 2.28. That is exceptionally impressive- plus their average xG conceded is just 1.05. Brentford have been pretty poor this season and they aren’t far off getting dragged into a relegation battle either given the recent results from the likes of Luton. That win for Brentford recently against Nottingham Forest was massively needed – that’s been their only win in seven Premier League games with the other six losses. Brentford have been playing a very open game this season, and although their games have been very entertaining it has cost them at the back.

As I said above, when you play an open game against City you tend to pay the price. Brentford’s average xG conceded this season is 1.5 which is a high figure facing City. I wouldn’t put anyone off including City at 1.45 in your Acca this week, but I feel that they can cover the handicap here. They are trading 2.23 -1.5 goals and that looks cracking value in my opinion. The stats really point to a big City win here, and I feel at 2.23 it’s worth a Max Bet!

The Striker Says:
Five points win Manchester City -1.5 goals to beat Brentford at 2.23 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
