WALES V SWITZERLAND

2pm It’s our first massive Saturday at Euro 2020 and we start the action with a cracker as Wales take on Switzerland. This is a huge game for both sides as they have Italy in their Group – this game could go a long way to deciding who finishes second, or indeed who might get into the top rankings in third. We have three fascinating markets today, but this one is the most open – don’t forget all Euro 2020 matches are 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange too, so we should get some excellent value. If you read my Outright preview, you will know I fancy Wales to qualify from this Group – I felt they offered a lot of value, but I can also understand why many football fans want to be against them. They have had issues with their manager off the field, and while I don’t read too much into friendlies they have actually had a poor build-up to this tournament.

They only managed a 0-0 draw against Albania last weekend which is worrying and lost 3-0 to France prior to that. It’s hard to know what to make of these friendlies though – for example Switzerland beat Liechtenstein 7-0 – but then against better sides they have been conceding goals recently. In competitive action, Wales have really impressed me. They grinded out qualifying in a very competitive Group and then topped their Group in the Nations League – although anything other than 1st would have been disappointing. Switzerland have been playing much tougher opposition as they were in Group A4 in the Nations League with Spain and Germany. I feel the match odds are pretty much bang on here, Switzerland should be favourites, but you couldn’t have them much lower than their current 2.24. I feel over 2.5 goals offers a lot of value at 2.92 and Both Teams To Score is certainly of interest around 2.5 too. Switzerland have been conceding goals a lot recently and although we might have a cagey start – we could see a pretty open game here. Over 2.5 goals is worth a small investment at the odds.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Over 2.5 goals at 2.92 with BETDAQ Exchange.

DENMARK V FINLAND

5pm We have another huge game next as Denmark take on Finland in Group B. You’d have to expect Belgium to top this Group, and then it’s a little open as to who qualifies. Denmark will feel that they are the clear favourites to finish second behind Belgium, but Russia are a very solid side and Finland have had some good results going into this tournament – albeit at a lower level. Finland had some very good success in the Nations League – they finished a clear second behind Wales and beat Ireland twice. Ireland have been very poor recently though and perhaps the results against Wales, two losses, shows the level Finland are at. Denmark were actually in a Euro 2020 qualifying Group with Ireland and they were held to a draw twice, although it’s perhaps fair to say Ireland have gone backwards since.

Denmark will be a lot of football punters banker today, and while they will likely outclass this Finland side in the end, I do feel they are a little short at 1.48. Finland have lost their friendlies coming into the tournament, but I’m sure they will take a lot of confidence from their Nations League games. Denmark are a classy side, but they don’t create a huge amount – we obviously have limited xG figures in International football but for example they only created an xG of 0.68 against Ireland in qualifying and generally have tight games against the top sides. Finland aren’t a top side, but they will likely put XI men behind the ball here and set up for a very defensive game. I feel they will give Denmark a lot more problems than odds of 1.48 suggest, and I’m happy to have my first lay of the tournament on Denmark.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Denmark to beat Finland at 1.48 with BETDAQ Exchange.

BELGIUM V RUSSIA

8pm The eyes of the footballing world will be on Belgium here as they aim to get their Euro 2020 campaign off to a winning start. Anything bar a win here would likely shake things up in the Outright betting, but it will shake up a lot of opinions too. Belgium have a very strong squad for this tournament – you have to feel they won’t get a better chance to win a major tournament looking at their squad! Both sides will know each other well having faced each other in qualifying. Belgium sailed through that Group, winning ten from ten games. Russia had a good qualifying campaign too though, with their only dropped points coming from two losses against Belgium. Belgium have been excellent for a while now – they finished third in the World Cup, topped their Nations League Group involving England and as I said above, won ten from ten in qualifying.

Russia are a solid and decent side – but that’s all they are. They lack a spark, and mostly have to grind out games. I’m sure they will set up to defend here, but I can’t see past a Belgium win. The 1.8 on Belgium looks massive to me, and has to be a Max Bet. In the two games when the sides met in qualifying, Belgium won 4-1 and 3-1. They created an xG of over 2 in both games and kept Russia down to xG’s of 1.66 and 0.44. I would have Belgium much shorter than the 1.8 based on everything we’ve seen between these sides recently. Russia’s best chance of a result looks like a 0-0 draw to me, and while they will likely set up to achieve that and Belgium can easily fluff their lines under the pressure of a major tournament – the 1.8 just looks too big to ignore here. I’d have Belgium as short as 1.6, and the 1.8 even with the small worries you have at a major tournament looks excellent value. It has to be a Max Bet in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Belgium to beat Russia at 1.8 with BETDAQ Exchange.
