BUNDESLIGA/LA LIGA FRIDAY: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Friday’s games between HERTHA BERLIN v GREUTHER FURTH and CELTA VIGO v CADIZ both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

HERTHA BERLIN V GREUTHER FURTH

7.30pm We might not have the most glamourous Friday night football from Europe this week, but it is an interesting night from a better point of view. We have two odds on home favourites on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. As is nearly tradition now, we have one game from the Bundesliga and one from La Liga. We start in the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin hosting Bundesliga new boys Greuther Furth. From their opening performances in the Bundesliga, I feel Greuther Furth will be under immense pressure to stay up. They finished second in Bundesliga 2 last season, but the early signs aren’t good. If you take out their 1-1 draw with Arminia Bielefeld – who finished just outside the relegation zone last season by the way – they have conceded xG figures of 4.76, 3.09 and 1.36.

Those figures of 4.76 v Stuttgart and 3.09 v Mainz both came away from home and they are quite alarming. I know when signs come up to a top league like the Bundesliga; they generally do better at home compared to away from home but they are two very worrying performances. Stuttgart and Mainz aren’t top sides either. I know Hertha were in the relegation battle last season, but that was probably more down to not playing for ages because of Covid. By the time they got to play all their games in hand they finished in 14th but granted they were still only a few points away from the relegation playoff. They have had a reasonably slow start to the season, but they have had to play Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg already. I think Greuther Furth look like a very poor side, and while Hertha Berlin are limited, they should win here and the 1.7 is worth backing.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Hertha Berlin to beat Greuther Furth at 1.7 with BETDAQ Exchange.

CELTA VIGO v CADIZ

8pm We move over to La Liga to finish the evening with Celta Vigo hosting Cadiz. Both sides will start the weekend in the bottom five and they really need a win here – even just for the confidence boost. Celta Vigo sit in the bottom three with only one point from their four games, while Cadiz are in 16th having drawn two of their four games. Celta Vigo have had a tough fixture list as they have had to play Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid already, while Athletic Bilbao aren’t an easy fixture either. Cadiz have definitely had the easier fixture list, and they will likely grind their way to enough points to stay up again this season. They impressed me last season however, and they have been a nice addition to La Liga. They aren’t flashy, but they managed to beat Real Madrid and Barcelona last season – not many sides could say that! They did well to finished 12th, and I can see them dropping a bit lower this season.

Although Celta Vigo are rightfully favourites, the 1.57 does look more than a little short here. There’s only a marginal little bit of value in the lay and perhaps under 2.5 goals is a better play at 1.8 or bigger. Cadiz generally like to keep games tight and it’s safe to assume they will want to make this game as cagey as possible. Celta Vigo got hammered 5-2 by Real Madrid last weekend, but they have generally kept things tight at the back – although the Osasuna game is quite worrying! They conceded an xG of 2.87 in a 0-0 draw and the 1.57 does look very short. I wouldn’t put anyone off the Celta Vigo lay at the odds, but unders looks a slightly better value play for me – but I’m happy to keep stakes low here. I expect a close game where both sides cancel each other out, but I respect the fact they have given away some big xG figures so it isn’t a game to lump on unders, but it’s small value and worth backing.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 1.8 with BETDAQ Exchange.
