FLAMENGO V CHELSEA

7pm Chelsea are back in action at the FIFA Club World Cup on Friday as they take on Flamengo on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. The London club started their campaign without too much fuss as they comfortably beat Los Angeles 2-0 – the main talking point of that game was how empty the stands were rather than the actual football on the pitch. I know ticket sales has been a huge talking point and FIFA have struggled with the build-up, but I did expect to see more people in the stadium considering LA are a home side. I know football isn’t the natural sport of America, but I expected to see more fans turn up for an American side!

Chelsea went into their opening game as the red-hot favourites at 1.3. This one is definitely more competitive – they are still trading odds on, but there’s plenty more willing layers. Chelsea are trading 1.89 with Flamengo 4.5 and the draw is 3.9 at the time of writing. When the draw was made and you looked at Group D, you would have thought that this fixture would decide top spot. Flamengo had no trouble winning their opening game either; a comfortable 2-0 win over Esperance de Tunis. As you would expect, they dominated the game with 69% possession. Slight worry being they only finished the game with an xG of 1.43 – you’d expect a bigger figure given the amount of possession they had.

It will be interesting to see how Chelsea get on here. Flamengo are a solid side – they sit top of Serie A in Brazil at the moment, only eleven games into the season. They don’t usually win the title though – not since the Covid period anyway. Last season, they finished third and the season prior fourth. It has been a running thing during this tournament that FIFA need to work out a way to get the most recent title winners in. Not having Liverpool, Napoli or Barcelona is criminal really!

Alas, we power on. Flamengo will be a decent test for Chelsea – certainly a step or two up on their opening game – however looking at the under-lining numbers from Flamengo and their opening performance, I feel it’s hard to get away from Chelsea here at 1.89. I’d have them trading sub 1.8 – they finished the Premier League season very strongly and they wouldn’t need to be at their absolute best to get the job done here either. Chelsea are my first confident bet of the tournament!

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Chelsea to beat Flamengo at 1.89 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
