SERIE A FRIDAY: The Ultra previews INTER MILAN v CAGLIARI with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
INTER MILAN V CAGLIARI
7.45pm Friday Night Football from Europe on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week comes from Serie A as Inter Milan host Cagliari at the San Siro! Inter come into Friday night having taken a huge step towards their 21st Scudetto last weekend – a commanding performance extended their lead at the top of Serie A to nine points with Napoli and AC Milan both dropping points. At this stage it’s hard to see anyone stopping them, they have close to two hands firmly on the trophy with just six games remaining. This will be a game that they will be fully expected to win, and it’s just a matter of ticking the games off now on their way to the title.
As you would expect with home advantage, Inter come into the game as the red-hot favourites at 1.22 with Cagliari 16.5 and the draw is 7.6 at the time of writing. The underlying numbers for Inter have been nothing short of exceptional this season. Their average xG created of 1.97 is the best attacking figure in Serie A, and their average xG conceded of 1.02 is also the best defensive figure. When you are creating the most and conceding the fewest expected goals in the entire league, the title was always going to end up at the San Siro – anyone who likes xG numbers would have seen this coming, even with Inter losing games early in the season. Having been knocked out of the Champions League earlier in the season, all of Inter’s focus has been channelled domestically now so it’s hard to see past them.
Obviously with Inter trading as short as 1.22 here, we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value. I would happily include Inter in any weekend Acca though! Cagliari arrive at the San Siro still on the edge of the relegation battle, but a massive result last weekend against fellow relegation strugglers Cremonese, provided a huge boost to their survival hopes. That win could prove to be a season defining moment for Cagliari; results like that in a relegation battle are worth their weight in gold. It was a proper six pointer. Cagliari come into the weekend sitting in 16th six points clear of Cremonese and Lecce. Obviously anything here for Cagliari will be a bonus given the gulf in class between the sides!
While Cagliari will no doubt come here to defend, I feel this is a case of how many goals can Inter score rather than will they actually win. Cagliari have been one of the poorest sides in Serie A this season. Their average xG created of 1.10 is the fourth worst attacking figure in Serie A, and while their average xG conceded of 1.49 is a little better, it’s still in the bottom six defensively. Cagliari will need to produce something quite remarkable to take anything from the San Siro to be honest. I can’t see Inter taking their foot off the gas too – especially with no big European games either – and I feel they can cover the handicap on the way to winning here. They are currently 1.67 to cover a 1.5 goal handicap and that looks cracking value in my opinion.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Inter Milan -1.5 goals to beat Cagliari at 1.67 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
