MONDAY IN EUROPE: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Monday’s games between VILLARREAL v GRANADA and ELCHE v ATHLETIC BILBAO with recommended BETDAQ bets.

VILLARREAL V GRANADA

7pm Monday night football returns in Europe as we have two very interesting games in La Liga. We also have two very interesting markets on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, and hopefully we can find two good value winners. We start the evening with Villarreal against Granada. Villarreal finished their season on a high with a Europa League win against Manchester United, but prior to that they actually dropped out of the European places in La Liga – they were involved in a great battle with Real Sociedad and Real Betis, but unfortunately for them they were four points behind Real Sociedad and three behind Real Betis after losing two of their last five games in a very competitive run-in. Granada finished in mid-table in 9th, a mile away from European football and a mile away from a relegation fight – they are your classic mid-table side.

This should be a good game, and Villarreal might have a slight fitness edge having played the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea last Wednesday – losing on penalties in the end. The Yellow Submarine usually like to keep games very tight, and with Granada not really creating a huge amount of chances last season, I expect a low scoring game here. I’m surprised to see under 2.5 goals so big at 1.98. Perhaps it’s the fact that Granada gave away a lot of chances last season – giving up an average xG of 1.7 per game in La Liga which is very high. They only created just over a goal though, and I feel Villarreal will control the game and keep it tight. Villarreal look priced very fairly at around 1.6, so the match odds don’t offer value for me – I much prefer unders at the odds.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.98 with BETDAQ Exchange.

ELCHE V ATHLETIC BILBAO

9pm Next we have an intriguing market as Elche host Athletic Bilbao. Elche only stayed up by two points last season, however they were never really in danger. They finished 17th because they lost their last three games, and they were probably “on the beach” early as they say. Athletic Bilbao finished slap bang in mid-table in 10th – every similar to Granada in the earlier game today – miles away from the European spots but also miles away from relegation. They did suffer the pain of losing two Copa del Rey finals within two weeks though as they played Real Sociedad from the season prior and then Barcelona in last season’s final. They will probably target the Cup again this season!

They should really start their season with a win here. Elche are a very limited side, and their xG figures were poor last season. On the xG table, they actually finished rock bottom – a sign they have been giving away too many chances and not creating enough. Athletic Bilbao played a little better than their finishing position, and I’m very keen on them here at odds against. I’m actually surprised to see them trading around 2.1, as I would have them odds on here. It’s still the first weekend of the season however, and I don’t want to go too mad on the staking – I’m happy to have a decent bet at the odds though.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Athletic Bilbao to beat Elche at 2.1 with BETDAQ Exchange.
