BUNDESLIGA / LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews DORTMUND v RB LEIPZIG, BARCELONA v ATLETICO MADRID and BAYERN MUNICH v GLADBACH all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

DORTMUND V RB LEIPZIG

2.30pm What a fantastic Saturday in Europe! This is a day right out of the top drawer of football, and all football bets are 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange today too! We start the day in the Bundesliga with a quality fixture as Dortmund host RB Leipzig. Dortmund looked very unlikely to finish in the top four a couple of weeks ago, but they are finishing the season strongly and now they started the weekend just one point behind Eintracht Frankfurt and two points behind Wolfsburg. Frankfurt and Wolfsburg have lost two of their last three, while Dortmund come into this game off the back of four wins in all cmpetitions. It would be quite the turnaround, as there was a seven point gap at one stage with limited fixtures left. RB Leipzig will be a very tough test, as they have clearly been the second best team in the Bundesliga this season.

The one thing in Dortmund’s favour today is they have more to play for than Leipzig, so Leipzig could be happy to play an open and relaxed game. They are pretty much certain to finish second, and with a seven point gap to Bayern Munich they aren’t going to catch them. Dortmund are a little short in the match odds market in my opinion, as RB Leipzig are a quality side – Dortmund seem like a classic “more to play for, need to win” price to me. I have to say the bet that jumps off the page here is over 2.5 goals at 1.64. The xG figures scream goals here with both sides having some very high figures. In their last three Bundesliga games, Dortmund have created 1.48, 4.57 and 2.86 while RB Leipzig have created 3.73, 2.19 and 1.25. Leipzig were desperately unlucky to lose to Koln with an xG of 2.19 and I feel this game screams goals.

BARCELONA V ATLETICO MADRID

3.15pm Next we move to La Liga for the biggest game of the season. A couple of weeks ago, El Clasico was a huge affair because it decided who will challenge Atletico Madrid at the top of the table – after Real won that fixture and then dropped points, Barcelona got themselves back into a strong position – then Barcelona lost at home to Granada with a chance to go top and all that means Atletico Madrid are two points ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona. While these two play today, Real Madrid play Sevilla tomorrow who are also in the top four, so it’s a massive weekend in La Liga. Even a draw here wouldn’t exactly open the door for Real given how hard to beat Sevilla are. It’s just a shame this fixture isn’t at a prime time like 8pm to enjoy it, and it clashes with a lot of sport midday on Saturday but c’est la vie!

Barcelona have had some disappointing results lately despite playing their best football of the season. That’s just football for you. Even in their 2-1 loss here to Granada, they should have won with the xG finishing 1.74 to 0.81. They were also unlucky to lose El Clasico, and they are playing much better football than Atletico coming into this game. I feel today is the day Barcelona go top, and I’m happy to have a Max Bet on Barcelona at 1.84. Hopefully we can continue the excellent run with the Max Bets. Since Barcelona and Real Madrid have started to put pressure on Atletico, they haven’t responded well – they have effectively thrown away a big point lead and games in hand too. You can see by their xG figures they aren’t playing good football – even in their 1-0 win over Elche who were in the relegation zone, Elche created more than them with an xG of 1.49 – they were very lucky to win. They didn’t create much away to Athletic Bilbao either, and they couldn’t beat Real Betis away and lost to Sevilla away before that. With Barcelona in such good form, I feel this will be one way traffic and Barcelona top La Liga.

BAYERN MUNICH V GLADBACH

5.30pm We head back to the Bundesliga to finish the day with another cracker. Although Gladbach are having their worst season since 2017/18 and it looks like they are going to miss out on European football next season too which is unfortunate. If you look at the Gladbach xG figures, you can clearly see their problem. They give away too many chances! That actually makes them one of the best sides to watch for the neutral because nearly every game is end-to-end, but you just can’t give away that many chances and expect to get Champions League football. They have been playing well towards the end of the season however, and I wouldn’t be rushing to back Bayern Munich at odds of 1.39 here.

Bayern had a shock result last time out when they lost 2-1 to Mainz, perhaps a reflection of the title being very close to in the bag and Mainz fighting for their Bundesliga spot at the bottom of the table. Bayern have been leaking chances lately, and with Gladbach creating a lot and finishing the season well I’m not surprised to see over 2.5 goals as short as 1.3. I much prefer Both Teams To Score at 1.51 and that definitely looks the value here. The market is expecting goals, and Gladbach have been in good form going forward – they can score in what should be a Bayern win.
