BUNDESLIGA / LIGUE 1 / LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Saturday’s matches between DORTMUND v STUTTGART, PSG v NANTES, ATLETICO MADRID v OSASUNA and BARCELONA v ESPANYOL all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

DORTMUND V STUTTGART

2.30pm Although we had a great International break, it’s fantastic to have club football back and we have an excellent Saturday ahead all around Europe. With all football bets 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, it’s going to be a superb day! We kick off the day in the Bundesliga with Dortmund hosting Stuttgart. Unfortunately for Dortmund, they lost ground on Bayern Munich at the top of the table as they went into the International break with a loss against RB Leipzig. I felt that was a massive game for them, the opposition was tough and they were getting close to Bayern at the top of the table. It was definitely a big setback, and they didn’t play well either – they can have no complaints. After looking impressive at times, they were absolutely hammered by Ajax in the Champions League and perhaps the cracks are starting to show. Anything bar a win today would be a huge blow.

Luckily for Dortmund, Stuttgart might not be able to deliver that blow. Stuttgart are having a reasonably poor season – they started the weekend sitting just outside the relegation playoff spot and they are definitely in the mix in the fight to go down. Eintracht Frankfurt are just above them, and they are unlikely to go down, while Hertha Berlin look pretty solid too so there is much to worry about for Stuttgart. They lost a massive game at the bottom of the table to Arminia Bielefeld prior to the International break, and you have to worry about the number of chances they are conceding this season. With home advantage, Dortmund should easily win this game and cover the handicap along the way. The 1.9 on Dortmund -1.5 goals looks an excellent bet to kick start the weekend.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Dortmund -1.5 goals to beat Stuttgart at 1.9 with BETDAQ Exchange.

PSG V NANTES

4pm Next we move to Ligue 1 as PSG host Nantes. It’s fair to say PSG have had plenty of eventful games lately – apart from the 0-0 draw with Marseille recently they have seen a lot of goals in their games. They went into the International break with a 3-2 win away to Bordeaux, and prior to that they played an incredibly open game with RB Leipzig that finished 2-2, but to be honest it would have easily been 4-4 the way that game was played. It’s hard to blame PSG for their open tactics – when you have their attacking talent, they can outscore any team in the world. With those tactics though, we will see some shock results. I felt they could go through the season unbeaten in Ligue 1, but obviously that record is already gone. The title is basically won already however, as they start the weekend ten points clear the top.

The market is confident on a PSG win here as they are trading 1.29 at the time of writing. This should be a straightforward home win to be honest – Nantes just barely avoided relegation last season. They finished in the relegation playoff place, and although they have had a better start to the season this time around as they sit in mid-table – this game will be a case of how many goals PSG can score rather than will they win. At 1.29, they are an excellent addition to any BETDAQ Multiple this weekend in my opinion! For my best bet here though, I like PSG to cover the 1.5 goal handicap at 1.82. When you look at the xG figures for Nantes you can see that they have been conceding a lot of chances this season, and PSG could run riot here.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win PSG -1.5 goals to beat Nantes at 1.82 with BETDAQ Exchange.

ATLETICO MADRID V OSASUNA

5.30pm Next we move to La Liga for the evening games and we start with Atletico Madrid hosting Osasuna. Atletico Madrid haven’t been at their best this season, and they are already five points behind Real Sociedad at the top of the table. They do have a game in hand however, but they will probably be more worried about being four points behind Real Madrid having played the same amount of games. Given all the troubles of Barcelona this season – they sit in mid-table at the moment – Atletico will be disappointed with their performance. They had a fantastic chance to win back-to-back titles which would have been a huge achievement, but they just haven’t been playing good football this season. They are struggling to create chances, and although they are masters are grinding out a win, they have seemingly lost that touch too. They aren’t playing too bad – they are in the top four after all, they are just struggling for their form from last season.

When you think back to last season, Atletico had a big lead towards the start of the season and just held on under pressure in the final games. They don’t have that luxury this time around, and perhaps they needed a “reset” during the International break. Even with home advantage here, this will be a tough game as Osasuna have started the season in good form. They will be confident, and feel that they can get a result here – they are only four points behind Atletico after all as they sit in seventh. In all competitions, Atletico have only won once in their last six games – I know that had to play Liverpool twice in there but they seem far too short to me at 1.47. Osasuna are a limited, but solid side, and with Atletico struggling to create a lot of chances I feel they can get a result here. They’re going to put XI behind the ball anyway and make life very tricky for Atletico.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Atletico Madrid to beat Osasuna at 1.47 with BETDAQ Exchange.

BARCELONA V ESPANYOL

8pm We stay in La Liga to finish the day as Barcelona host Espanyol. Barcelona suffered another setback before the International break as they had to settle for a draw at Celta Vigo. They managed to score three goals, but they only finished the game with an xG of 0.97 and it was another pretty average performance. They played away in the Champions League prior to that and only created an xG of 0.93 against Dynamo Kiev. To be honest, you’re never going to replace Messi but it’s surprised by just how much Barcelona are struggling this season. I expected them to be well short of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, but to slip down to mid-table is quite shocking. The problem now is, they have lost the fear. Just like Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson left, sides play Barcelona now and feel confident of getting a result. It’s very surprising what a change in mindset can achieve, and it’s hard to be confident on Barcelona going into any game at the moment.

Each week you look at the markets and think “that’s a little big for Barcelona” but then have to remind yourself that they are a different side now. They are drawing, and losing, to poor sides. They will give the new manager a lot of time, he is a club legend after all, but they are going to have some very tough times this season. Espanyol finished bottom of La Liga in 2019/20 but managed to bounce right back up for this season, and they will be happy with their start sitting in mid-table. Usually Barcelona would be around 1.25 to win games like this, it’s a sign of the times to see them at 1.4. Espanyol like to play an open game, and have been giving away a host of chances recently – add that to the fact that Barcelona have been conceding goals and I feel over 2.5 goals is the value play here at 1.65. This game screams goals, and we should have an end-to-end entertaining game.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.65 with BETDAQ Exchange.
