BUNDESLIGA/LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between HERTHA BERLIN V BAYER LEVERKUSEN, ATLETICO MADRID V ALAVES and REAL SOCIEDAD V BARCELONA all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

HERTHA BERLIN V BAYER LEVERKUSEN

2.30pm What a fantastic day in Europe. All eyes on BETDAQ Betting Exchange will be on the top sides in La Liga later on, but we start with a very interesting game in the Bundesliga. Hertha Berlin are under massive pressure this season. They started the weekend in the relegation playoff place, while Arminia Bielefeld, one point ahead of them in 15th lost against RB Leipzig on Friday night. This is a chance to ease the pressure on themselves and get out of the bottom three. They must fancy their chances against an out-of-form Bayer Leverkusen side. Leverkusen have only won once in their last six in all competitions, and that came against Gladbach who were on a terrible run.

Leverkusen actually put Hertha under immense pressure last weekend when they lost 2-1 to Arminia Bielefeld. They also lost recently to Augsburg who are towards the bottom of the table too, so don’t rule out Hertha just because of their league position. Hertha put in a very poor performance last weekend against Dortmund, but their xG figures were much better prior to that game. They were really unlucky to lose to Wolfsburg and also to RB Leipzig in the manner they did (3-0 in a close game). I expect a close game here, definitely closer than odds of 2.14 suggest on Leverkusen and I have to lay Leverkusen from a value point of view. I know Hertha are limited, but Leverkusen aren’t playing well enough to justify the odds at the moment.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Bayer Leverkusen to beat Hertha Berlin at 2.14 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

ATLETICO MADRID V ALAVES

5.30pm A massive Sunday evening in La Liga. Atletico haven’t had a good week and need a win. They only managed a draw last weekend against Getafe and although they played well and deserved to win, they can’t afford to drop points against sides like Getafe. They then went to London and got knocked out of the Champions League against Chelsea who controlled the game. They’ll have to pick themselves up after that, but there’s nothing to focus them better than the La Liga table at the moment. After the draw against Getafe, their lead is down to four points and their game in hand is gone too. Surely they are starting to feel the heat with Barcelona chasing them down. Alaves are sitting in 19th position, and Atletico simply can’t afford to drop points here.

Even though Alaves are a very limited side and deserve to be in the bottom three, Atletico would probably prefer to play a mid-table side who have nothing to play for. Things are very tight towards the bottom of La Liga and there isn’t much between the bottom five sides. Alaves will be fighting to stay in La Liga, and that is a dangerous thing when Atletico are under pressure to win. That being said, they should really get the job done here. Looking at the xG figures Alaves are playing very poorly at the moment – they have conceded xG’s of 2.12, 2.39, 1.36, 2.33 and 2.58 in their last five games, and Atletico can cover the handicap here. I’m surprised to see odds against on -1.5 goals, and the 2.16 is very much worth backing.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Atletico Madrid -1.5 goals to beat Alaves at 2.16 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

REAL SOCIEDAD V BARCELONA

8pm Barcelona will have one eye on the Atletico result earlier in the afternoon, but this is a cracking game in its own right. After a very poor start to the season it looked like Barcelona’s title hopes were already gone but they have really turned a corner in 2021 and they start the day four points behind Atletico Madrid after a great run. Obviously Atletico have opened the door for them, but you can see by looking at the Barcelona xG figures how good they are playing. Real Sociedad might be fifth in the table, but they have been playing very average football since a fast start. They recorded a remarkable xG of 5.67 against Levante recently, but that’s very much an outlier rather than consistent with their performances.

I’m surprised to see Barcelona slightly odds against here, and I can’t ignore the 2.04 on offer. Barcelona banged in four goals on Monday against Huesca and although they conceded more chances than they would like – Real Sociedad haven’t been creating impressive xG figures other than Levante. Even in their draw with PSG in the Champions League, Barcelona probably put in their best performance of the season. They created chances for fun, and they seem back to themselves after a bad start. Obviously Messi is happy again, and with Barcelona in this form I feel the 2.04 is definitely worth a rare Max Bet. I think the 2.04 offers incredible value.

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Barcelona to beat Real Sociedad at 2.04 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange
