BUNDESLIGA/LA LIGA SUNDAY: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews RB LEIPZIG v STUTTGART, VILLARREAL v BARCELONA and ATHLETIC BILBAO v ATLETICO MADRID all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

RB LEIPZIG V STUTTGART

2.30pm What a fantastic Sunday in Europe! We have some massive games in La Liga later today that could easily spice up the title race, but we start in the Bundesliga earlier in the afternoon with RB Leipzig hosting Stuttgart. Leipzig have thrown away any chance they had at winning the Bundesliga with a draw against Hoffenheim and a loss against Koln in their last two fixtures. Let’s be honest, they were always unlikely to catch Bayern but they got within four points and could have put a little pressure on them heading into the final games. That’s gone now, and while I wouldn’t put anyone off laying them today, I feel there could be a lot of goals in this game and I’d rather focus on the under/over 3.5 goal market.

In fairness to Leipzig, they were unlucky to draw with Hoffenheim and lose to Koln. On xG, they should have won both games. I feel the only reason for laying them today could be a lacklustre performance after such a setback in the last few days. That being said, we could have a very entertaining game here as Stuttgart generally play a very open game. The Stuttgart xG figures are nearly always high at both ends, and they score and concede in most games! This game could have an “end of season” feel to it with plenty of chances and I’d have over 3.5 goals odds on.

VILLARREAL V BARCELONA

3.15pm All eyes on BETDAQ Betting Exchange will be on La Liga this afternoon and evening as we have two huge games at the top of the table. Although Real Madrid have been ahead of Barcelona in the table, Barcelona have been playing better football and the general feeling is if anyone is going to catch Atletico Madrid it will be Barcelona. They start today five points behind Atletico, but they do have a game in hand now after not playing last weekend when the won the Copa Del Rey. You only have to look at the odds to see today is a massive day. Barcelona are 1.7 and Atletico are 2.0 later. Both of them could easily fail to win, or we could see a big change at the top of the table by tonight.

Villarreal have been tough to beat this season and have had 13 draws from 32 games – the joint most before this weekend. They are pretty limited in the sense that they don’t blow teams away – you can see that by how many draws they have – but they can easily frustrate Barcelona. Villarreal have actually been playing very well lately however, and they have a Europa League Semi-Final to look forward to on Thursday. I would worry a little about their recent games as they have been playing lower quality opposition, but they have been putting in some nice xG figures. Barcelona have been scoring goals for fun lately, but they have started to conceded chances at the back too. It’s tempting to lay Barcelona for a small stake at 1.7 as I feel Villarreal can make this difficult, but I only see goals here and the 1.55 looks Max Bet material looking at the xG figures. I can see this game being very end-to-end and Villarreal can score with all the impressive chances they have been creating lately.

ATHLETIC BILBAO V ATLETICO MADRID

8pm Another tricky fixture for Atletico Madrid on the run-in! I’m not sure if you’d call it a luxury, but they can see what Real Madrid and Barcelona have done this weekend before they kick off here. After a poor run of results, they steadied the ship with a 5-0 win over Eibar and a 2-0 win over Huesca. Those were two ideal fixtures against lower quality opposition and they had home advantage, but the worry here is that they dropped points against to Real Betis and Sevilla prior to that, and while Athletic Bilbao might not be the same bracket as those two, they are a tricky side to beat. Bilbao need a boost after losing two Copa Del Rey Finals this month, and I’m not that will be a sport quiz question in years to come.

As always, it’s all about the odds for me and I feel Atletico are worth backing at 2.0 here. I fully understand it’s going to be a tricky fixture for them, they haven’t done well in the close games lately but when you look at the Bilbao xG figures you can see they are there for the taking. Atletico may well come up short, but the 2.0 is just too big, I’d have them odds on. Bilbao just haven’t created a lot lately, and the best chance for them seems to be a draw. Most of their recent xG figures have been under 1, and they must be low on confidence after losing two finals. They have nothing to play for here, and Atletico can edge them out in what should be a pretty close and nervy game.
