EUROPA LEAGUE PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Thursday’s Europa League games between involving Arsenal, Rangers, Tottenham, Leicester and Celtic all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

DUNDALK V ARSENAL

5.55pm It’s crunch time in the Europa League for a lot of sides and we should have a very exciting night ahead! A lot of Irish football fans will be looking forward to this fixture, but the reality is it’s a meaningless game with Arsenal certain of top spot and Dundalk certain of last. It’s a more interesting game from a betting point of view on BETDAQ Betting Exchange given we can expect Arsenal to rest all of their main starting XI. With Arsenal going to field a weakened side, Dundalk will see this as an excellent chance to steal the limelight with a shock win. The question is are they good enough to do that?

The League of Ireland is many, many levels below anything close to what the level is in the Premier League so we have to factor this in. How poorly do Arsenal have to perform to bring the sides close together? The market has Arsenal 1.18 and you can hardly argue with that. This is definitely a game for small stakes – I can see Arsenal winning but Dundalk making life a little difficult for them. Under 2.5 goals is a very tempting price at 2.8, however stakes must be kept to a minimum here.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.8 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange

LECH POZNAN V RANGERS

5.55pm A massive game for Rangers in Group D. Rangers and Benfica have been miles apart from Lech Poznan and Standard Liege in this Group thus far, they have matched each other right throughout the Group and now Rangers need to hold onto top spot on the final night. Rangers have provided excellent value for the neutrals in this Group so far with plenty of action. Probably their least interesting game was there 1-0 win over Lech Poznan when the sides met previously. Since then they have had plenty of goals and action!

While Lech Poznan are an average side, you could say that Rangers blew them away at home. They had to grind out a 1-0 win. Perhaps we’ll have a close game here and although Rangers essentially need to win to keep top spot, I feel that the 1.66 on offer is ten ticks too short. I’m happy to lay them purely from a value point of view, while keeping stakes to a minimum because Lech Poznan are a very limited side. I expect a closer game than the odds suggest though.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Rangers to beat Lech Poznan at 1.66 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange

TOTTENHAM V ROYAL ANTWERP

8pm Top spot is on the line in Group J as Spurs host Royal Antwerp. It seems so long ago that Spurs lost to Royal Antwerp and Jose Mourinho went on a rant in the media afterwards questioning his players. We all know that can go both ways, but for the time being they are playing their hearts out for him and they can challenge for the Premier League title this season. They’ll probably fall short, but they have been excellent this season and they have been playing some impressive football.

Antwerp would top the Group with a draw, so they are going to be a little cagey and negative to begin with. It’ll be interesting to see what sort of side Jose names tonight because they need a win to top the Group, but they are coming off two big London derbies with Chelsea and Arsenal, along with Europa League commitments and have two Premier League fixtures in the next seven days. Antwerp have been creating chances for fun lately and although there was only one goal when the sides met earlier in the competition, over 2.5 goals is worth a small investment at 1.5 for me.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Over 2.5 goals at 1.5 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange

LEICESTER V AEK ATHENS

8pm Leicester steadied their ship with a 2-1 win over Sheffield United at the weekend, ending a four game run without a win. They have drawn and lost their last two games in this competition, so they go into the final games level on points with Braga in the race for top spot. They should have the Group wrapped up, but at least they will qualify unlike Manchester United after throwing away a strong position! The good news for Leicester fans is they face a relatively easy task against AEK Athens who sit bottom of the Group.

Leicester have been out of sort lately, and even though they got back to winning ways at the weekend that came against Sheffield United who sit bottom of the Premier League table. I wouldn’t be very confident lumping on them at 1.4 tonight that’s for sure! However they should get the job done with relative ease. They beat Athens 2-1 when they were away but it was a lively game and with Leicester so short in the match odds market I like a small bet on over 2.5 goals at 1.58.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Over 2.5 goals at 1.58 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange

CELTIC V LILLE

8pm Unfortunately for Celtic this is a meaningless fixture for them as they are nailed to the bottom of Group H. They have been very poor this season and not just in the Europa League. They lost ground again in the Scottish Premiership and now they are 13 points behind Rangers – they have two games in hand but the title looks as good as gone for them already given the lack of quality in the league apart from the big two. Just because this fixture is meaningless for Celtic fans doesn’t mean it’s meaningless as Lille need a win to top the Group.

Celtic got a surprise 2-2 draw away to Lille when the sides met previously. They were 2-0 up at HT before Lille came back strongly in the second half. On balance over the full 90 minutes Celtic didn’t deserve a draw and with them playing so poorly this season I really like Lille here at 2.36. That looks the best bet of the night for me and has everything going in it’s favour. They need to win, have been playing well and Celtic have been poor. I would have them much shorter than 2.36.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Lille to beat Celtic at 2.36 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange
