REAL BETIS V GIRONA

6pm We have two cracking games from La Liga on Thursday night on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. After Barcelona dropped points again at the weekend, Girona and Real Madrid have moved further clear at the top of the table. Both of them are in action tonight, and we start the evening with Real Betis hosting league leaders Girona! Real Madrid fans will be glued to this fixture as well as later to see if a win could put them top again. As things stand, Girona have a two point advantage over Real Madrid. I’m sure most football fans expect Real Madrid to go past them at some stage, they are still odds on to lift the title too, however Girona fans must be living in dreamland at the moment! It’s hard to believe that they finished in sixth in the Segunda in the 2021/22. They were a whopping 13 points behind Almeria who topped the table – now Almeria are nailed to the bottom of La Liga and fully expected to get relegated while Girona are actually challenging the title. How you rate how big that challenge is will be personal opinion, but they seem to be a bigger threat that Barcelona at the moment and any club that finished mid-table last season would take being around 6/1 to win a title!

This should be a tough fixture for Girona, we do have an open market but they come into the game as the favourites. The away win is trading 2.46 with Real Betis 3.05 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing. Real Betis have really struggled since they finished a very strong fifth in 2021/22 – when Sevilla dropped out of the top four, they would have been the natural side to “take over” if you like, they had just won a Copa del Rey too, but they just haven’t been good enough last season and this season. They are marginally conceding more chances than they are creating this season; pretty much mid-table form and they probably won’t be good enough for a Europa League spot this season. They have been a lot stronger at home this season however, and Girona are conceding more chances than they are creating away from home. That makes the 2.46 on Girona feel a little short here in my opinion, and I do expect a very close game. Under 2.5 goals is also a tempting bet 2.18 but both sides have been playing a pretty open game this season, I feel the 2.46 on Girona is worth a small lay – I just expect a closer game than the odds suggest.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Girona to beat Real Betis at 2.46 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

ALAVES V REAL MADRID

8.30pm Depending on the Girona result in the earlier game, Real Madrid might have a chance to go top of the table as they take on Alaves. Real Madrid fans will probably see Barcelona as more of a threat still, and it was a good weekend in that sense as they moved further away from Barcelona as they drew with Valencia. Real have been exceptional this season, and Jude Bellingham has been in unstoppable form too. Real are creating an average xG of 1.99, which is the highest figure in La Liga. They also have the best defensive figure too, they are conceding an average xG of just 1.14 – you can see why they are still odds on to win the title! Girona have been grinding out a huge amount of games and they deserve massive credit, but you’d have to expect Real to still win the title. They are just playing superb football all over the pitch. How cool is their new stadium with the roof on too!? Real come into this game as the odds on favourites, and I was surprised to see them trading as big as 1.61 when I clicked into the market. Alaves are trading 6.0 and the draw is 4.5 at the time of writing.

Alaves came up from the Segunda playoffs last season after getting relegated from La Liga in 2021/22 when they finished bottom of the table. On paper, they would have been strongly fancied to be heavily involved in the relegation battle again this season, and they started this midweek round of fixtures just three points off the relegation zone. There are a lot of sides involved at the moment however, and looking at their under-lining numbers I would be very surprised if they went down. They are marginally creating more chances than they are conceding – pretty much mid-table form. At home they have been solid, their average xG conceded is just 1.13 and that’s why we see Real trading as big as 1.61. I still feel that’s ten ticks too big however given the gulf in class between the sides. Real have an excellent record against Alaves; they’ve won the last two meetings by three goals, and they’ve also won six of the last five meetings. I feel we’re getting a lot of value at 1.61, and I’m happy with a Max Bet.

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Real Madrid to beat Alaves at 1.61 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
