UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE: We preview Sunday’s UEFA Nations League matches between ENGLAND v CROATIA (2pm), NORTHERN IRELAND v AUSTRIA (5pm) and SWITZERLAND v BELGIUM (7.45pm) with recommended BETDAQ bets.
ENGLAND V CROATIA
2pm What a massive game in Group A4 with everything to play for! A win here for England would cap off an amazing year for them and Southgate has definitely got the “good vibe feeling” back into the International side. Croatia blew this Group right open on with a 3-2 win over Spain on Thursday night and now both sides can win the Group. Both sit on four points with this game in hand against Spain on six points.
England are odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; England 1.88, Croatia 4.5 and the draw is 4.0. England have been excellent this season; they have beaten Spain in this competition already after a great run at the World Cup during the summer. They looked much the better side when these sides met behind closed doors recently and were unlucky not to come away with the win. Croatia haven’t had a good run since the World Cup however the win over Spain on Thursday obviously means they come into this one on a high. We feel that being away from home is a big negative for them though and England will outclass them – were happy to back the home side at 1.88.

NORTHERN IRELAND V AUSTRIA
5pm Northern Ireland have yet to register a point in their UEFA Nations League campaign so are certain to get relegated whatever the result today. Anyone that watched their friendly with the Republic Of Ireland midweek is probably still asleep and now Northern Ireland have only score four goals in eight games, and haven’t scored in their last three. At home against Austria is a great chance to win a game, but do they have the quality?
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Northern Ireland 3.3, Austria 2.48 and the draw is 3.3. Austria grinded out a 1-0 win with home advantage when the teams met in this competition a month ago; and we expect a very close game again here. Northern Ireland have always been better in front of their home fans compared to away from home and we feel that Austria look too short at 2.48. We expect Northern Ireland to make the game a lot closer than those odds suggest, and don’t rule out a boring 0-0, we’re happy to lay the away side at the odds.

SWITZERLAND V BELGIUM
7.45pm This is an interesting game in Group A2 tonight with Belgium sitting top of the Group with nine points and Switzerland in second with six points. Belgium have been faultless in this competition thus far and beat Switzerland 2-1 with home advantage. Obviously now with Switzerland having home advantage it will bring the teams closer together and we expect a hard fought game here.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Switzerland 3.6, Belgium 2.24 and the draw is 3.5. Belgium had an excellent run in the World Cup when only coming up short against the champions France; and their form overall is excellent. It’s hard to know what to make of Switzerland losing to Qatar as a warm up for this game but we feel that Belgium will outclass them here and odds of 2.24 really appeal.
