SHAMROCK 2/2 WITH NAPS IN 2014: SHAMROCK followed up with a winning nap with THE FIRM – a skinny 8/15 SP – but around evens on BETDAQ at the time of selection. He heads to Cork on Saturday.
The biggest shock of the racing week is that Cork is on today.
Given the bad weather in the area this week it was surely long odds-on to be abandoned earlier in the week but fair play to the course for getting the card on.
A Cork spokesperson said: “We were in a bad state earlier in the week, but the drainage on the course has worked very well.”
The Firm landed the NAP last night and Dundalk and today’s best bet is the Willie Mullins trained Wicklow Brave in the 1.00.
He makes his jumping debut having notched up a hat-trick in bumpers, including most importantly a win in heavy ground.
He looks very hard to oppose here.
