Tonight at Newcastle brings to a close The Pinpoint Recruitment Final following the card last week from Sheffield.
The north of England greyhound circuit owes a debt of gratitude to Pinpoints Boss Alan Findlay who has dug deep to ensure events like this go ahead I had the pleasure of meeting the man, he is a real character.
The card itself looks tough with 2 or 3 ‘thin uns’ dominating the programme.
7.34 Will go to Greyhound of the year Farloe Tango who will go off around 1.2. The ‘cream cookies’ make Tp 2 Boherna Rock clear 2nd fav butIthink he is a lay in the place or in the without the FAV market at around the 2.5 mark,i like Tp 4 Pond little minx.
7.49 480 standard ,a tentative selection would go to Tp 3 Calzaghe Davy not seen since his Laurels elimination in December,he doesnt look quite reved up and seems 4 or 5 lenghts short of his best.
8.04 This race has changed dramatically with Tp 5 a non runner also not been made any easier by the fact the 3 inside dogs will all aim for the fence, there could be ‘carnage’.
8.19 Again in this race there is a non runner with Tp 5 Russanda Duke out. The coast looks clear for Tp 2 Calzaghe Mario. Tp 1 Pond Mozart is slow to go.Traps 4,5 and 6 are middle to wide.Ted Soppitts dog looks set to make all.
8.34 The last 4 races on TV are all finals and this is the race I think we will get the ‘green gages’. Trap 4 Farloe Nutter impressive heat victor from trap 1 has more on his plate here, his allocated Tp4 draw couldnt be worse. There’s loads of early in the race which contains 6 railers, throw in inexperiance there should be fun at the first bend, lay around 2.5 Farloe for the sweets!
8.49 The sprint final is dominated by Traps 4 and 5.A level break from Trap 5 Ballymac Best whos been well backed should confirm CD form with Tp4 Calzaghe Sunny who he beat on the 25th of January when drawn 4 and 6.
9.04 The stayers final is all about Trap 1 Laganmore Milan who will try and put his early speed to good use by making a bolt for victory. Although the heat times say it I’m not convinced as there are decent finishers in the contest with 2,5 and 6 at around 2.0 he is no bargain for me.
9.19 The standard final, with 6 railers lining up, it looks a match between 5 and 6 even though they would prefer to be in 1 and 2 6/4 your pick. The margin of victory will be slight and at the prices I will sit this one out!
Good Luck
