SHAMROCK HEADS TO THE CURRAGH: For the evening meeting which takes place on good to firm ground. His best bet runs in the final race on the card at 8.35.

The Dermot Weld stable did me a favour earlier in the week with Carla Bianca and I’m sticking with them today at the Curragh.

Weld has made an absolutely stunning start to the new season and it was great to see them land a prize at Royal Ascot too with Mustajeeb in the Jersey Stakes. And we haven’t even had the Galway Festival yet !

He saddles two in the 8.00 at the Curragh tonight and both can be given sound chances.

My preference is for Calibrate, despite Pat Smullen being onboard their other runner Nonchalant.

Calibrate ran well on handicap debut at the Curragh last time out when finishing a staying on fourth to Barack. The extra furlong tonight should suit the grey filly. She is currently trading around 9.4 on BETDAQ so I am supporting her win and place.

Nonchalant made a winning debut at Cork but then struggled when upped in class at the Curragh and was second of four at Navan last time out. He doesn’t look especially well treated on handicap debut.

Streetcar To Stars ran a cracker when only just touched off in Listed company at Leopardstown last time out and can end Aidan O’Brien’s recent domination of the final race on the card. O’Brien has won the last three renewals.

NEXT BEST: WIN AND PLACE Calibrate (8.00 Curragh)
