TWO GROUP RACES AT LEOPARDSTOWN: SHAMROCK heads to Leopardstown this evening for the two Group races on the card.
Two Group races on the Leopardstown card tonight.
6:25 Jockey Club Of Turkey Silver Flash Stakes (Fillies’ Group 3) (2yo, Class 1, 7f, 8 runners)
Aidan O’Brien has dominated this in recent years, winning four of the last five renewals with some talented fillies. He has three runners this year with Joseph onboard Cocoon who is the best fancied of the trio on the BETDAQ market. Cocoon is likely to find considerable improvement from her debut effort at the Curragh when seventh, staying on strongly when the penny finally clicked. Interestingly, stable companion Qualify finished in front of her and also takes her chance tonight. I was taken with Agnes Stewart who belied odds of 22/1 to win well at Fairyhouse on debut and think she has excellent win and place claims.
6:55 Japanese Racing Authority Tyros Stakes (Group 3) (2yo, Class 1, 7f, 3 runners)
Only three runners but it still looks interesting. All three won last time out. Tombelaine made a winning debut over course and distance in June. He will improve but might find Gleneagles too strong tonight. Gleneagles won well over this trip at the Curragh last time out. Convergence actually has chances and is over-priced but the percentage call is Gleneagles.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Gleneagles (6.55 Leopardstown)
NEXT BEST: WIN and PLACE Agnes Stewart (6.25 Leopardstown)
