SHAMROCK NAPS AT LEOPARDSTOWN: SHAMROCK bids for his fourth winning nap from the last five with a nap in the Listed Heritage Stakes at Leopardstown this afternoon.
There really is something for everyone today – jumping at Cheltenham, flat action picking up on the quality front at Newmarket and two cards in Ireland at Leopardstown and Limerick.
In the Listed Heritage Stakes at Leopardstown this afternoon I am keen on the chances of Fascinating Rock to continue the good recent spell of trainer Dermot Weld.
The four-year-old hasn’t been seen since finishing last of five in the Irish Derby in June. Despite the finishing position he didn’t run at all badly behind the long odds-on Australia.
He had previously won two Group 3 races so should be at home at this level and with the stable in such good form is a confident bet to win a race that the stable did so well in with Famous Name.
Chopin is an interesting rival as he is having his first start for Ger Lyons having previously been trained in Germany.
