BIG-RACE DOUBLE: 4-1 AND 5-2: Daqman landed both major races of the day between Ascot and Punchestown yesterday, the Sagaro Stakes and the Punchestown Gold Cup, with just one bet in each race, Mizzou (WON 4-1) and Don Cossack (WON 5-2).

DAQMAN HITS PRICEWISE FOR SIX: Daqman also landed a place bet in a third big race put up by Pricewise of the Racing Post, giving Daqman a 3-0 win over his rival yesterday, the same three-love score as on Tuesday.

HE’S THE RUNAWAY LEADER 20-4: The six returns without reply give him a 20-4 lead this Flat season, and the overall score between them is now: Daqman 161, Pricewise 77. Says Daqman: ‘I want to be 100 wins in front by Royal Ascot.’

66 POINTS PROFIT IN TWO DAYS: The two days have produced 66 points profit, with accurate headlines such as ‘Cossack’s Big Chance To Hit The Big Time’ and ‘He’s Some Article At 15.5.’ Yesterday:

WON 4-1 Mizzou
WON (lay) Shaneshill (3rd 11-8 favourite)
WON 5-2 Don Cossack
2ND 9-1 Baby Mix (win and place at 12.5 on BETDAQ)

CROSS COUNTRY WITH BRIDGE: 15.0 ON BETDAQ

3.40 Punchestown Bog War is up 18lb for two facile wins, one on top of the ground, one on heavy, since he dropped back to the minimum, after placing over further here at Punchestown in February.

Verawal (16.5 on BETDAQ early mouse) has raced in three Graded hurdles and this company is much weaker.

In form from the Flat, Pepparpot runs in his first hurdle since breaking his maiden in convincing style under Danny Mullins in August 2013, and, as a front-runner, could be your trade horse. My early position: 18.0.

4.15 Punchestown The buzz horse is Blacklough, who goes well fresh, and has his first race for the in-form Henry de Bromhead, who confirmed that he knows a bit about prepping 2m chasers when Special Tiara scored at Sandown at the weekend.

But Henry’s other runner in this, Enjoy Responsibility, big at 17.0 in the BETDAQ orange this morning, ran a cracker at Aintree in the Red Rum Chase, finishing just in front of Baby Mix, second in the Guinness Chase (Grade A) yesterday.

Ned Buntline, fourth in the Cheltenham Grand Annual, is a punters’ promise horse who has yet to deliver. Paul Townend continues his winning partnership with USA, 14.0 as I write.

The 18.5 offer One Term, hat-trick winner as a novice, bounced back to form on a sound surface on the last day and is better than the bare form. Willie Mullins is not very upbeat about Upazo.

It’s a race in which a number of outsiders have chances but I shall assume that Henry De Bromhead has racked it with the Gigginstown runner Enjoy Responsibility and Blacklough (9.8) hovering menacingly at the foot of the handicap proper.

4.50 Punchestown (La Touche Cup) Rivage d’Or, Uncle Junior, Dogora and Quantitativeeasing – first, third, fourth, unseated rider – meet again in a repeat of the Cheltenham Festival cross-country.

Dogora (only six) was the horse to take out of the race and should be a force in this discipline next year. But Quantitativeasing, unluckily carried out near the finish, has been saved for this by Mr Banks Racing himself, Enda Bolger.

Ballybroker Bridge is an improver for Peter Maher, who will be keen to see whetther the 3m course winner here in February (Quantitativeeasing fourth) can get the extreme distances of these cross-country races.

At 15.0 on BETDAQ this morning, with a saver on the favourite, I shall join the Maher s table in its adventure, spurred on by Ballybroker Bridge’s trace on the dam’s side to a Grand National runner-up.

COLONEL’S CHANCE TO GET WORLD RANKING

5.30 Punchestown (Ladbrokes World Series Hurdle) Incredibly, the supreme athlete Hurricane Fly is vying for top rating here, only a pound behind the four-years-younger Jezki, who landed the Cheltenham and Punchestown championships back to back in 2014 on today’s type of ground.

Hurricane Fly was beaten by Jezki in both but gained his revenge twice on softer ground in the autumn, and was just in front of Jezki again when third to Faugheen at Cheltenham last month, after winning the Irish Champion Hurdle in January. What a horse!

Meanwhile Dedigout has made a clean sweep of the Group-2 equivalent hurdles this year and deserves another crack at the top level.

But stop right there! This is a 3m World Hurdle not a two-mile title race. Hurricane Fly and Jezki have never won beyond 2m 4f, yet are clear in the market this morning.

Lieutenant Colonel pulled too hard on the firm ground at Cheltenham; he was too fresh, not having raced since December when he beat Jetson, Dedigout and Zaidpour at Leopardstown (3m).

He should get a lead from Ttebob and Zabana, maybe even Jetson, too. He’s only six but has already won two at Grade 1. I could get around 10.0 this morning in exchanges.

6.40 Punchestown (Ryanair Novice Chase): Un De Sceaux

THEY WON’T TURN OVER NEW LEYF AT REDCAR

3.25 Redcar Tim Easterby has just rattled in a four-timer, and blinkers first time on Royal Preserve entice me to take an early position at 32.0 on BETDAQ, as I write.

4.30 Redcar Jeremy Gask takes New Leyf on the 575-mile round trip to Redcar, and has booked Jamie Spencer. Could be too classy for the platers Haajes (prefers 5f) and Risk ‘N’ rRward (prefers 7f). I took 4.2.

5.00 Redcar David O’Meara goes for a hat-trick in this race with first-time-in-a-handicap Rose Acclaim, 8.0 on BETDAQ at the time of writing.

DAQMAN’S BETS (each staked to win 20 points)
