LOST-OWEL: Listowel were forced to cancel their card for today and racing on Wednesday is again under threat.

Bad news from Listowel and their Festival meeting.

After losing their card on Monday, today’s racing is also off with the course reported to still be partially waterlogged and unfit for racing. Officials plan to assess their chances of racing tomorrow later this afternoon at 4pm.

Tomorrow’s card features the Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase for which 21 runners (including three reserves) were declared including last year’s winner Your Busy.

The Willie Mullins trained The Paparrazi Kid is prominent in the market after his excellent second to Shanahan’s Turn in the Galway Plate.

Following the cancellation of Listowel’s meetings replacement Flat meetings at Navan (Sept 21) and at Naas (Sept 23) have been announced by Horse Racing Ireland.
