NAP NON RUNNER: Yesterday’s NAP, Be The Hero, was a non runner at Limerick. SHAMROCK heads to Cheltenham via Cork today in search of a naps hat-trick.
Be The Hero didn’t quite live up to his name yesterday and was a non runner. Given that the new favourite Ben Button was BEATEN in the race at 2/11 there must surely have been every chance that the race was there for Be The Hero’s taking?
It means the naps hat-trick is still on though after:
Saturday: Tongie (NAP) WON 5/4
Friday: Oiche Mhaith Boy (NAP) WON 10/11
Pre-Cheltenham action comes courtesy of Cork today with a seven race card on soft to heavy ground.
Best bet for me is the Paul Nolan trained Summerhill Lewis in the opener. He hasn’t run badly in three starts when the company has been hotter.
Although beaten a fair way on both occasions his recent fourth places at Limerick and Clonmel look the best form on offer.
The Gordon Elliott trained Walkabout looks the main danger. He’s dropped in class but has been beaten by an average of 41 lengths in his last four starts.
